The Optoelectronics College (OEC) is an innovative project to support the classroom teaching of Optoelectronics in secondary school science to pupils in the 11-13 age range. It seeks to communicate the excitement of Optoelectronics in a practical way and to encourage our young people to consider study and careers in science, engineering and technology, including teaching.

The current pilot for the OEC has brought together science teachers, teacher educators and university researchers to develop innovative teaching materials, apparatus and teacher continuing professional development.  The site contains both open and encrypted downloadable files and efforts are made to keep these up to date.  If you would like a password for the encrypted files, then please contact us
